Frequently Asked Questions - and our answers.

1. Are the Blush&Cherry Nail Wraps harmful?

No, the nail foils are free of harmful substances and HEMA and, of course, also animal cruelty-free.

2. Do my nails need to be roughened before use?

No, unlike gel or shellac modeling, the nails do not need to be roughened before applying the nail foils.

3. Do I need to use a base coat before applying the nail wraps?

No, the nail wraps can be applied directly to the clean natural nail. However, some customers still apply a base coat or nail hardener before applying them. Please note that the polish must be completely dry, and not all polishes retain the adhesive strength of the nail wraps.

4. Can the foils only be used on natural nails?

No, you can also easily apply the Blush&Cherry Nail Wraps to gel or acrylic nails.

5. Can I use Blush&Cherry Nail Wraps while pregnant?

Yes. There is no evidence that nail wraps, whether UV or not, have any adverse effects on pregnancy or breastfeeding.

6. Do the nail wraps fit every shape of fingernail?

The Blush&Cherry Nail Wraps come in various sizes, so they fit 95% of all nail shapes. They can also be applied to both short and long nails.

7. My hair gets caught in the edges of the nail wraps. How can I prevent this?

Prepare your nails thoroughly before applying the nail wraps and ideally use a cuticle remover, as the foils won't stick firmly to cuticle residue. Also, make sure to press all edges of the nail wraps firmly onto the nail before they cure. It's best to use the included wooden stick. Also, be careful not to choose wraps that are too narrow for your nails. Korean foils get thinner toward the edges, so hairs are less likely to get caught there.

8. I no longer want my nail wraps. How can I return them?

You are welcome to return your unopened package to us within 30 days.
Please also see our cancellation and return policy in the footer menu.

9. What is the difference between nail polish wraps and UV nail wraps?

Unlike nail polish wraps (= nail foils without UV), UV nail wraps (= UV nail foils) are cured under a UV lamp. Because they are much more stable than nail polish wraps, they strengthen nails considerably and make them more resistant to everyday wear and tear. They therefore last significantly longer than nail polish wraps.

10. Is a UV lamp harmful to my hands?

The quick answer – yes and no. Studies have shown that common UV lamps used to cure gel nails emit UV-A radiation, which can damage skin cells. However, this risk only exists with longer exposure per session. Since the Blush&Cherry UV Nail Wraps only need to cure for 1-2 minutes in total, this is considered harmless.

If you're still concerned, you can apply sunscreen (SPF 50) to the back of your hands beforehand. Make sure your fingernails are degreased and clean before applying the nail wraps.

Alternatively, you can also purchase our UV gloves in our shop, which protect your hands from any UV radiation while using a UV lamp.

11. Which is better for my nails – UV nail wraps or nail polish wraps?

If you have soft and brittle nails and would like more resistance so that your nails can grow longer, we recommend the UV Nail Wraps.

Nail polish wraps, on the other hand, have the advantage of being even easier to remove. While they don't last as long as UV nail wraps, they're also significantly less expensive and are especially suitable if you like to change your design more often.

12. Can I paint over my nail wraps?

Yes, you can paint them over with clear varnish or, if you prefer, with colored varnish.

13. Can I wash my hands normally, shower, etc.?

Yes, of course you can shower, wash your hands and carry out all your daily tasks as normal.
However, immediately after bonding, prolonged contact with water should be avoided for at least 4 hours, as this may otherwise impair the durability.

14. Blisters are forming under my nail wraps. What could be causing this?

Your nails may not have been sufficiently degreased or dry when you applied the nail wraps. Also, make sure you first press the wraps firmly in the lower center of your nail and then smooth them out toward the edges and upwards.

15. My nail polish wraps seem to shrink after a while. The front tips of my nails are suddenly showing a little. What could be causing this?

This behavior of the nail wraps is called retraction. You can prevent this by opening the wraps and leaving them there for two hours before applying. When filing off the excess nail wrap (see Step 3, Method 2 in the "How It Works" section), file slightly below the edge of the nail and always in a direction toward the center of the nail. Seal your nail polish wraps (except the Shine Edition, which already has a top coat built in!) with a good top coat, ideally a UV top coat.

16. A white border forms after filing. How can I prevent this?

When filing, make sure you hold the file at a slight angle and don't file vertically. You can also use a file with a finer grit. Many customers have had good experiences with glass files.

17. Can I lengthen my natural fingernails with the nail wraps?

No, unfortunately that's not possible. However, slight shape adjustments are possible with UV nail wraps.

18. I bought UV nail foils, but it looks like the top layer is peeling off the color layer. What did I do wrong?

When filing, make sure you file the UV wraps in one direction only and never vertically to the nail, as this can cause the layers to lift. If you feel this has happened while filing, we recommend sealing the wraps and the nail edge with a UV top coat.

However, there are also a few defective UV films where the layers separate despite correct application. This affected a large number of shops, especially towards the end of 2023. In this case, please contact us at hallo@blushandcherry.com.

Some clients have had good results by applying only one finger at a time, immediately curing it for about 20 seconds, and then moving on to the next finger. The films are then cured for another 1-2 minutes and then trimmed with clippers and a file.

19. My film is splintering after just a few days. What could be causing this?

Proper curing is especially important with Korean films. As a general rule of thumb, Ohora and Lit Gels tend to need longer to cure, while Heyhae, like the Classic 20 UV films, needs one minute. However, the curing time depends heavily on the strength and age of the lamp used, so an exact curing time cannot be specified. However, you will find guidelines on curing times behind the product descriptions. Please always check whether the film is already fully hard or whether it can still be pressed in with your fingernail.
too short or too long curing can lead to splintering.
